What is AirwaySim?
First of all, welcome! You will be participating in a realistic airline simulation as part of your studies.
AirwaySim is an online management simulation where you can run your own airline and compete against other students in your course. Your simulation environment will be private and customized just for your course.
Participation fee
Your university has requested that each participating student will pay the simulation usage fee individually, instead of single billing through university's management.
Due to ongoing technical changes to our backend systems, this fee shall be paid via our public website and for this you need to create a separate user account (sorry for this extra step, work in progress...).
This involves a few extra steps for you which are outlined here:
- Create an account to our public website at https://www.airwaysim.com/
- You can use your personal / preferred e-mail and select your own preferred username. These do not have to be the school's credentials. These are not visible / used when you start the course's simulation session.
- After registration and account activation (check your e-mail!), please proceed to our Credits Shop located at https://www.airwaysim.com/Shop
- Purchase the required number of AirwaySim Credits.
- Check the exact amount needed from your instructor!
- The store offers a variety of payment methods including major credit cards, PayPal and Apple Pay - choose your preferred method.
- Please note that the standard 30 day refund period (in the Terms of Service) does not apply to these custom simulations, unless the course or its simulation is entirely cancelled by the university.
- After you have completed the purchase, inform your instructor of the username and e-mail you used to create the account, and that you have purchased the required Credits.
- All done! 👍
When your custom simulation starts
Since our educational simulation environment is on a separate server from our publicly accessible simulations (due to ongoing system changes), you will receive a separate account / password from your instructor before the actual simulation begins. This will be a generic account with a different username (usually in format "schoolABC-user001") and a predetemined password.
Further reading
Your instructor will provide the user manuals and other start-up information before the simulation begins.
If, and hopefully when, you enjoyed the simulation, please feel free to use your personal account (the one created in step 1) at our public website at https://www.airwaysim.com/ and compete against other airline managers worldwide.
Have fun with the simulation! 😁
